Hello fellow readers and christmas lovers!
Today I present to you: my TBR for the month of December!
As I will participate in the Christmas Bookathon, an event of the same-named group on Goodreads, I'm not only going to have a normal TBR but have to choose the books after some challenges:
#1 Read a book with red AND green on the cover
For this one I chose Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer! I think you all know what this is - the gender-switched retelling of Twilight! And it has two covers basically: the original Twilight cover with the red apple and the new cover with a green apple! So that works out perfectly!! :-)
#2 Read a book set during Christmas or a Christmas classic
-> #7
#3 Read a hardcover or paperback with either WHITE, GOLD or SNOW on the cover
I am going to read Legacy by C.J. Daughtery. It's the second book in the Night School series and I have not read the first book yet but it's on my way and I'll read it asap! I read the first few chapters on Wattpad and Amazon and OMG it is SO. GOOD. No joke! It literally won me over at the first few pages.
#4 Read a book set in winter
-> #7
#5 Read a book that you recently got as a Christmas present or a book that was recommended to you by a friend
This was not exactly recommened to me but I know I will get Oblivion by Jennifer L. Armentrout for christmas! And I am SO EXCITED!! I've been waiting for this book for, let's say, quite a long time now. If you do not know, Oblivion is Deamon's POV of the first three books in the Lux series.
#6 Read an author you've never read before
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo! I do not know what the book is about nor have I ever read Something by the author sooo surprise, surprise!
#7 Read a children's book set in Christmas
I'm going to read Holly The Christmas Fairy by Daisy Meadows. This is one of the first books I've ever read if not the one so it has kind of has a sentimental value for me. Plus it is set during christmas and in winter so it totally covers challenge #2 and #4!
#8 Read a book thats been on your TBR since last Christmas
For this I choose the Silver trilogy by Kerstin Gier which has been on my TBR pretty much since the first book came out but I just recently started it this month and am currently reading the third book which I actually hope to finish before December but I'm just counting it anyway because I don't know any other book that has been on my TBR for so long.
#9 Read a summer/holiday romance
This one is covered with Twilight or Life and Death for me! I know it doesn't take place in summer or holiday but it's a romance. Well, kind of... I guess at some point almost every book is because every novel has a romanic aspect. So yeah, I take the same as #1 here!
#10 Read a book that has a different cultural or religious aspect to your own
P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han will be the one. If you haven't read the To All The Boys I've Loved Before series you probably don't know that the protagonist Lara Jean is Korean which is reflected in the story every now and then.
#11 Read a book with the word Snow, Red, White, Green or Christmas in the title
I cheat a little here: instead of reading a book with snow in the title I will read one with the word "frost"! And this one will beee (you probably guessed it already) ... Frostbite! The sequel to Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead! I've been wanting to read it forever and I loved Vampire Academy so now I have a perfect excuse to read it:-)
#12 As Christmas is the season of giving - Donate a book/books to your local charity, goodwill or secondhand bookstore and if you can find a good book there buy one in return and read it.
This is kind of hard because I don't think we have anything like this where I live... at least not for books so I'll have to see how I do this challenge.. Any ideas? :D
Okay, this is going to be my TBR for next month! In total I'm planning to read 8 - 9 books... Not sure if I'll be able to manage that but I keep you guys updated!! Actually I thought I might write short weekly updates for the readathon. They would be about what and how many books I've fnished already, what I'm currently reading and which ones I still have left :-) So, if you would be interested in that, comment down below! And also tell me if you want to participate and if you'llll do such updates!
And YES, you can still participate: just join the group on Goodreads and try the challenges:) I think it's going to be a lot of fun especially because the group isn't really that big (under 100 readers) so it's easier to communicate. Just try it out!
Thanks a lot for reading!
